Design is for Living - Eames Walnut Stool Shape B

Lean and modern.   Sleek, sophisticated, and simple.   Beautifully functional.

This 15” solid walnut stool is for sitting, for displaying objects, or for just putting things on, even your feet.  It just simply works.  And it pleases the eye.

Charles and Ray Eames, leading American designers of the 1940s and 1950s, designed the Walnut Stool Shape B in 1960 for Herman Miller, Inc. for the lobby of the Time Life Building in New York City.

Already famous for their bent plywood chairs and molded fiberglass seating, the Eames design philosophy was about making a better world, one in which things were designed to fulfill the practical needs of ordinary people and bring greater simplicity and pleasure to living.   This husband and wife design team, whose unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture, applied their skills to everything from architecture to children’s toys.

The revolution of form and widespread shift in design which took place in the 1940s and 1950s is perhaps difficult for us to appreciate today when we take so much for granted the functionally of objects we use in everyday life.  This iconic Eames Walnut Stool serves as a beautiful reminder.

“What works is better than what looks good.  The 'looks good' can change, but what works, works.”

                                                                                                              quote from Charles Eames

WRITING SAMPLE: promotional text (two versions)

Sample of two different promotional styles on the subject of  HGH:

#1-personal/factual style:

How is Ageing Affected by the Human Growth Hormone?

The function of the Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, is to promote tissue repair and cell regeneration in the bones, muscles and vital organs.  It also supports the immune system in its vital roll of combating infection and disease by improving movement of amino acids – the essential building blocks of cells and muscles – across cell membranes.

Your pituitary gland produces large amounts of HGH when you are young, but the amount secreted decreases sharply as your body ages.  That means that as your body’s cells die off, they are not replaced as quickly.  Your declining HGH production results in a reduction in cell replacement levels.

Doctors Natural HGH Supplement supports your body’s ability to self-repair by ensuring that replacement cells are healthy and readily available.  This slows down the ageing process, and you will feel and look younger. (147)

#2 - personal/problem-solution:

WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T SLOW DOWN AGEING?

As your body goes through its natural process of ageing, your pituitary gland secretes significantly less HGH - Human Growth Hormone – than it did when you were young.  That means that as your body’s cells die off, they are not replaced as quickly.  Your declining HGH production results in a reduction in cell replacement levels.

What is the function of HGH in the human body?

HGH promotes tissue repair and cell regeneration in the bones, muscles and vital organs.  It also supports the immune system in its vital roll of combating infection and disease by improving movement of amino acids – the essential building blocks of cells and muscles – across cell membranes.

Can you supplement the amount of HGH in your body?

Yes, you can!  Doctors Natural HGH Supplement supports your body’s ability to self-repair by ensuring that replacement cells are healthy and readily available.  This slows down the ageing process, and you will feel and look younger. (164)
